proposed organization
[edit]- signal transuction (DAG, IP3)
- eicosanoids
- mitogens/chemokines (sphingosine-1-phosphate [S1P], lysophosphatidic acid [LPA)
- endocannabinoids (anandamide [and other N-acylethanolamines], 2-arachidonoylglycerol)
don't forget:
[edit]- the endocannabinoids (e.g., anandamide)!
- Eicosanoids – I think these belong here. Is there a formal definition of lipid signaling? David.Throop 12:50, 17 January 2007 (UTC)
To-do
[edit]- Describe general pathway roles
- Describe receptors activating the pathway, its downstream targets and role in various cell types and physiological processes
- Prepare a diagram
- Add references

Hormones?
[edit]Does lipid signalling involve hormones? If so, perhaps that could be included in the first section. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.5.106.186 (talk) 16:20, 13 August 2016 (UTC)
