Black Islam brigade (Syrian rebel group)Lions of Islam Brigade – I had thought the more accurate translation would be "Lions of Islam", not "Black Islam". See its logo here: [1] --Relisted. EdJohnston (talk) 02:17, 26 March 2015 (UTC) Bulbajer (talk) 03:27, 18 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Relister's comment: If you are relying on translation from the Arabic, can you provide more details? Tell us what the name of the group is, in both Arabic and English. What is Skorr.Aljnobb? EdJohnston (talk) 02:17, 26 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Here's the name in Arabic: لواء أسود السنة (Liwa Usoud al-Sunna). Google translates this as "Black Brigade Year", but السنة ("Sunna") refers to Islam in this case. أسود ("Usoud") appears to have several different meanings, two of which are "black" and "lions" (see here: [2]). I don't know for certain, but "lions" seems more likely not only because of their logo, but also because if they had a name like "Black Islam Brigade", they might use more Black Standard-type imagery. Bulbajer (talk) 05:16, 28 March 2015 (UTC) Skorr.Aljnobb appears to be a battalion within Liwa Usoud al-Sunna. Bulbajer (talk) 05:16, 28 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I haven't conducted research into the various page contents but, at a punt, it may be significant that:

Here's a fairly reliable source referring to the group as the "al-Sunna lions battalion": [3] Bulbajer (talk) 19:27, 7 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Also, here's a source cited in many of Wikipedia's Southern Front articles referring to a "Lions of Sunna Brigade": [4]. I'm pretty sure this group is the same as the one in this article - look at the videos here: [5]. Notice the transition from the logo used on Hasan Mustafa's blog to the logo currently used by the Facebook page I cited above ([6]).Bulbajer (talk) 20:55, 7 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
