To Do List
[edit]- Something about the change of county Boundary - urgently needed; more details about the expansion.
- Lookup name of Vicar in 1299 on list of incumbents in St B's.
Unsubstantiated
[edit]The original article said that the priest in charge in 1299 was executed. It also said that bubonic plague caused the move from Old Linslade to the New Town. But I can't find references to either of these things; so they have excised until proof can be found.
Discredited
[edit]The original article also claimed St B's was dedicated to St Barnabus (with a 'u') but nowhere else is this noted, and nothing in the church supports it, so this is probbaly an urban myth based on the frequency with which Barnabas is misspelt.

No, Linslade WAS a town - right???
[edit]The first four words of the article - namely "Linslade is a town" - seem untrue to me. It shares a post town and a town council with Leighton Buzzard and there is no discernible boundary between the two; I would need to find some historical maps to even know which bit of the town is/was technically "Linslade". I don't have an opinion poll to point to but I don't think anyone who lives here considers them two distinct "towns" any more. ExplodingCabbage (talk) 19:26, 10 September 2024 (UTC)
