Grammar
[edit]Re today's edit - "Childrens' Gala Day" > "Children's Gala Day"? Mr Lambourne didn't teach us this novel use of punctuation at Linlithgow Academy! Is the Gala Day for one child, or many children? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Juux (talk • contribs) 16:23, 28 September 2006
- I would go with many children or else it could be child's gala day. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.47.193.206 (talk • contribs) 12:37, 26 April 2007
Black bitch
[edit]Do you think we should add an article about black bitch? (put up some references rather than have it look like vandalism) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.47.193.206 (talk • contribs) 12:37, 26 April 2007
- The black bitch was a dog who romed an island on the loch. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.229.157.238 (talk • contribs) 20:59, 24 March 2009
Speedway
[edit]Is the inclusion of an entire section about a defunct speedway team really necessary? There are plenty of more significant local historical records that might justly be covered in an encyclopedia (Nobel works, papermills etc.). I don't really see the need for such detail on what was, after all, a rather short lived and unsuccessful venture that contributed little to the actual town. Juux 19:17, 6 November 2007 (UTC)
Polish servicemen in Linlithgow during WWII
[edit]Thanks to anonymous contributor 81.155.39.48 for adding the link to http://www.1st-mac.com/, explaining the previous edit regarding the use of one of the town's churches during the war. I've lived in Linlithgow most of my life, was schooled here, yet I wasn't aware of this fascinating tale - good job Mr Jamieson! Juux (talk) 22:42, 29 June 2008 (UTC)
AGF
[edit]I reverted the edits as there were a lot at once including blanking all of the history section. Seemed odd for an unregistered user with no edit summary, --Brideshead(leave a message) 19:09, 5 January 2009 (UTC)
Images available on Flickr
[edit]Just a heads-up that there are plenty of good images available on Flickr under an appropriate license to be included here - this search gives all Attribution-Sharealike images under "Linlithgow". Chris Cunningham (not at work) - talk 17:07, 11 July 2009 (UTC)
Population
[edit]An enterprising IP changed it up to about 70,000 without giving a source, the original figure is roughly supported by Entec's Linlithgow Drainage Area Study for Scottish Water, a 2005 Linlithgow Civic Trust document estimates around 14,000 by then, so that appears to be a better figure. Better sources welcome. . . dave souza, talk 16:06, 6 May 2011 (UTC)

Someone has changed the notable people King James V to King James Veitch which is incorrect. Here is what it says: King James Veitch was born in Linlithgow 2A00:23C8:8187:CF00:C8E0:F4C0:216B:AD3A (talk) 09:05, 1 May 2021 (UTC)
