Neutrality dispute (May 2019)

[edit]

Multiple potential contradictions to the neutral point of view policy including uncited and biased statements:

Subsection 1: ‘A Fairer Deal on GST’: “Reynolds was a member of the Liberal Parliamentary team which fought for and won the fight for an overhaul of the GST distribution”, “Structural reform to how the GST is distributed. It works to better protect WA from future economic shocks, such as the end of the mining boom, which resulted with WA's share of the GST severely impacted”, “Increase WA's GST allocation to 70c in the dollar from the 2019 budget, and henceforth set a national 70c floor from 2022-23. In 2024-25 the floor will increase to 75c in the dollar”, “Establish a transition fund will allocate an addition $4.7 billion to WA over the next 8 years, which will help to provide Western Australia with essential services including schools, hospitals and roads.

Subsection 2: ‘Modern slavery and ‘voluntourism’’: "The Morrison Government's Modern Slavery Bill has set a clear standard for action, which will help deliver tangible results, and the freedom from slavery for millions of people globally

Subsection 4: ‘Advocating for WA Defence’: “As a direct result of this Council Western Australia is now constructing 31 out of the 54 commissioned next generation vessels for the Royal Australian Navy” and “[…] creating opportunity for hundreds of Australian businesses to contribute to the defence supply chain

Subsection 5: ‘Lithium industry’: “on why WA is the best place for Australia’s ‘Lithium Valley’” and “When Reynolds entered Parliament in 2014, the only mine that produced lithium ore was Greenbushes Lithium Mine, located north of Manjimup. At the time, WA was supplying 35 per cent of the world's lithium – employing 399 people. There are now 7 lithium mines in WA producing 62 per cent of the world’s lithium, with the sector employing over 2,600 people.
