Architect
[edit]I believe this school, and another in the area from about the same time and also NRHP listed, were designed by the Louisville firm of Nevin, Henry & Wischmeyer. There was also a Louisville firm of Nevin, Morgan & Wischmeyer, presumably with two of the same partners? FloridaArmy (talk) 22:02, 18 February 2023 (UTC)
- Herman Wischmeyer who designed other schools[1] was probably one of the partners. FloridaArmy (talk)
- Nevin may have been Hugh L. Nevin obit here. FloridaArmy (talk) 22:13, 18 February 2023 (UTC)
- Wischmeyer, Morgan, & Nevin I think designed the NRHP listed Pendennis Club (1928 building). FloridaArmy (talk) 22:15, 18 February 2023 (UTC)
Earl Henry seems to have been the other architect involved? Noted here in partnership with Wischmeyer and Morgan at around this time. FloridaArmy (talk) 23:01, 18 February 2023 (UTC)
References
- The name for the architect, "Nevin Henry Wischmeyer" comes from the "National Register of Historic Places Registration Form" dated May 23, 1988. It's possible they used nicknames or that an architectural firm led by Wischmeyer was used (hence this name). I am not convinced he is a notable architect or architectural firm however, as this building wasn’t listed in the NRHP for the architecture. - The name "Nevin Henry Wischmeyer" was an architectural firm, a new citation was added. PigeonChickenFish (talk) 00:52, 5 August 2024 (UTC)
