There were two Linby stations
[edit]There were actually two stations at Linby. The one referred to in the text of the article, past the site of which the modern Robin Hood Line passes, was built by the Midland Railway. The Great Northern station came later. The Former Services table is therefore incorrect: the Hucknall and Newstead stations to which the entries are linked are on the ex-MR formation used by the Robin Hood Line and therefore the Disused Railways entry is inconsistent with this as it says "Great Northern Railway". It ought to say "Midland Railway". As an interim measure I'll amend the table but for completeness the article needs expanding. I'll work on it when time permits. 188.29.164.154 (talk) 11:04, 3 February 2015 (UTC)
- The map coordinates given in the article also refer to the Midland station. Google maps shows track in situ at that point and, to the east, the dismantled former GNR route. 83.104.249.240 (talk) 14:36, 3 February 2015 (UTC)
