Second picture
Seems a bit inappropriate as she is just 17 years old at this time. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 184.54.67.232 (talk) 18:37, 15 December 2016 (UTC)
- Inappropriate how? General Ization Talk 18:41, 15 December 2016 (UTC)
- Let me give you an answer based on what I assume you find inappropriate: the fact that the picture makes it obvious that she has breasts. Please see WP:NOTCENSORED. The photograph was taken at a public event, accurately reflects how she appeared at that public event, and reflects the fact that her mode of dress at that event happened to provide hints as to her having normally developed breasts and areolae. Wikipedia is not censored, and the image is not pornographic or exploitative and has not been manipulated. Depp is a high-profile public figure; hence the accurate depiction of her appearance at a public event is not an invasion of her privacy. What I suspect you really object to is that Depp, at 17, dresses this way to attend public events, but that is a personal judgment on your part and not a valid reason to remove content from an encyclopedia. Anorexia
How can an encyclopedia state false facts? P depp (talk) 22:00, 19 December 2016 (UTC)
- @P depp: Facts published in reliable sources, such as Elle France, can most certainly be published here. See [1]. If you continue to remove sourced content without a valid reason for doing so, you will be blocked from editing. General Ization Talk 22:04, 19 December 2016 (UTC)
"Lily-Rose Depp is fluent in French."
She was born in France, lived her childhood in France, her mother is French, so why shouldn't she speak French?? It would be noteworthy if she couldn't speak French, but what is the use in adding obvious facts? Why don't you add to the article of Johnny Depp that he is fluent in English? --88.76.210.28 (talk) 01:25, 31 October 2016 (UTC)
- She has spent most of her life in America, she just visits France often. Not all children who have parents from two different countries are raised bilingually. I don't think it's obvious to all readers of this article (especially those not familiar with her) that she would be fluent in French. Littlecarmen (talk) 22:00, 10 November 2016 (UTC)
- Well, I'd never heard of her till today, and the sentence about her being fluent in French also brought me up short. I had no idea - why would I? - that she's spent most of her life in America, and since she was born to parents from different linguistic backgrounds and they stayed together till she was nearly 14 I would automatically assume she was more or less bilingual, rather than the contrary. I feel there's an underlying (America-centred?) implication in this sentence that 'everyone' really speaks English, that speaking even one other language is an unusual achievement (or unusual full stop), and that the average reader of this article is from the US and sees the world from that angle. Just for comparison I checked the French version of the article. It said nothing about her being fluent in English - which I assume she is, but there's nothing in either article to tell us. Why not say 'Depp is fluent in English and French'? Maybe she only speaks French. But one way or the other this is such an unremarkable piece of information that it might be best to delete it.213.127.210.95 (talk) 14:44, 7 February 2017 (UTC)
- @213.127.210.95: Thanks for the input, what you said about most people not knowing her background makes sense to me. I added that she's also fluent in English. I don't think it's unremarkable information though, especially since she's acted in English- and French-speaking films. Littlecarmen (talk) 16:37, 7 February 2017 (UTC)

Reportedly goddaughter of Marilyn Manson?
Clearly Depp (Johnny) and Manson were/are close (matching tattoos and all that). I don't know how close any relationship may be between Paradis and Manson but perhaps that's not a problem. A connection from Paradis (and maybe Depp too) may have been to godfather François-Marie Banier.
Basically I'm wondering if there is any source that doesn't quote the Daily Beast interview of 2016[2] for the "Lily-Rose is my goddaughter" statement? Is this perception shared by Johnny, Vanessa and Lily-Rose? Have any of them confirmed it? Is Manson reported to have made statement at another occasion? Some sources use "reportedly" in indication of the "god" relationship with the satanist. Is there reason to do something similar? GregKaye 20:23, 9 July 2022 (UTC)
