It certainly should be suppressed, and NOT merged! A list of "notable performers" when it's a national heritage! Whoever wrote it knows nothing about it (and yes, I've been known to sing some).
I don't know why we need this line: "However, peasant music in other Indo-European cultures was subject to similar constraints, and lilting did not develop." A minimum, it betrays a dramatic misunderstanding of cause and effect in human behaviour. More importantly, it has no bearing on the phenomenon of lilting. Laodah16:52, 18 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
