Error in the attribution of "First woman in India to graduate with mechanical engineering degree"

[edit]

This Wikipedia article states: "She did her early education in Pune after which she graduated in mechanical engineering with first class from the Government College of Engineering under the University of Pune in 1967, making her the first Indian woman to secure a degree in mechanical engineering.[5]"

However, that distinction belongs to R. Sarojini of College of Engineering, Guindy (CEG), Chennai, now under Anna University. She graduated in 1966 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, according to the information I have from the book https://www.scribd.com/document/227562123/The-History-of-CEG-1794-1994

In addition, the reference "The Asha Centre profile". The Asha Centre. 2015. Retrieved September 1, 2015." does not seem to exist or reachable. Girijasister (talk) 03:44, 4 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
