Original Research?
[edit]At the time of Lil Armstrong's death, she and I were working on her autobiography, a project started a few years earlier, it was never completed, I am left with a few chapters containing unpublished information, all in Lil's own words, from which I have used quotes and details to correct and improve this Wikipedia biography.
I have used notes to identify the source, but I have no proof other than Lil's original typed sheets. So, does this fall int Wikipedia's "original research" category? How, other than completing the book and having it published, can I lend some legitimacy to Lil's Wbio and invalidate the "This does not cite any references or sources" tag?
Also, to answer the request for a photo, I have uploaded a few, none of which infringe a copyright. I don't know how I can prove that, however, and the photos I myself took of Lil are not nearly as suitable for the framed insert.

"Bad Boy" a "hit by Ringo Starr in 1978"?
[edit]This isn't supported by Ringo Starr discography or by Bad Boy (Ringo Starr album). The album wasn't a "hit" and the song wasn't even a single.
And it's odd that The Jive Bombers' original version, which did actually chart Top 40 (Billboard) isn't mentioned anywhere.
Maybe that bit was written by a Ringo fan!

- In fact, this turns out to be more complicated than that. According to The Originals, It dates from a song called "Brown Gal" that Lil Armstrong & Her Swing Orchestra recorded in 1936. Jive Bombers were the first to record it as "Bad Boy", apparently. Looks as if some expansion of the Bad Boy article is also needed. Lyn50 (talk) 23:47, 27 March 2012 (UTC)
Picture
[edit]Gotta say that while I appreciate the effort to include a picture on this page the current picture is just god-awful. Anyone have another option here? It's almost worse than having nothing up there. -- Erika aka BrillLyle (talk) 15:48, 1 September 2015 (UTC) Five years on and no update. A search on DuckDuckGo finds several much better images. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.2.78.168 (talk) 23:41, 20 October 2020 (UTC)

Parov Stelar in opening paragraph
[edit]Is the use of Oriental Swing in a TV commercial relevant to her legacy? I feel this piece of trivia is given disproportionate importance by being in the lead paragraph. Could be moved to its own section. Triseult (talk) 03:50, 4 July 2017 (UTC)
- As no one said anything on this, I took the liberty to love the Parov Stelar line to a new section called Legacy. --Triseult (talk) 06:56, 2 May 2018 (UTC)
