Intro
  • "She wanted to have surface meanings ", can you reword, it is a little awkward.
  • "while rock guitar sounds kept it dark and mysterious.", seems a little OR. The guitar is a funkier style in this song and I'd say it is a far from dark/mysterious. I'd say the choir gives it more atmosphere, not the guitar.
Background
  • "But she understood that as she was growing up so was her audience." comma?
  • "Always the instinctive woman that she was, " reword Always an instinctive woman
Recording
  • "He knows what he's going to to and he knows what he needs to tell them". to to?
  • "As Madonna recuperated from the fight" you make it sound as if Leonard knocked her out and bruised her!
  • "However, the person pulled out at the last minute, which irritated Madonna greatly, and she started shouting at Leonard saying "If this fucking guy can't get a fucking drummer to turn up, then he isn't fucking playing on my record" not sure this is really appropriate. Obviously studio work can get heated.

This is a good article with all the main points but I'm not convinced the quality of the prose is up to scratch. A lot of its reads like a story/narrative rather than encyclopedic writing. I'll request a second opinion.♦ Dr. Blofeld 11:07, 12 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I have copy-edited the article completely and reduced about 18KB worth of prose. You can start now. — Legolas (talk2me) 18:37, 19 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
