Meaning

[edit]

The meaning doesn't make sense, and it has no sources. The lyrics seem to relate to abortion of birth, specially "the placenta falls to the floor". And not organ donation. 201.198.43.138 14:21, 3 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

What does that have to do with abortion? You do know that the placenta comes out AFTER the baby, right? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.69.152.178 (talk) 12:34, 29 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
The song is about "the circle of life", (thanks Elton!) the birth of a baby and the death of an old woman, "The confusion that was her's (the old womans) belongs now to the baby down the hall" is pretty self-explanatory. The first comment saying the song is about abortion is simply wrong. Thegraciousfew (talk) 10:24, 30 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Chart

[edit]

The chart section on the article says "Charts (2006)" but the song charted in 1994. Unless I'm reading something wrong, I think that date should be changed. Dekkerdreyer 22:03, 18 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:E404368sif2.jpg

[edit]

Image:E404368sif2.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 03:11, 3 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Not Pearl Jam

[edit]

I have removed the claim that this song was covered by Pearl Jam in concert. I have seen MP3s labelled as being Pearl Jam covers of "Lightning Crashes", but when I listened to one it was very obviously not Pearl Jam but rather the original band Live! For some reason many people seem to mistake "Lightning Crashes" for Pearl Jam, but to the best of my knowledge Pearl Jam has never covered the song. If anyone can cite a reliable source saying otherwise then they are welcome to put the comment back in, although I don't think it rates a mention in the introductory paragraph. Question

[edit]

Why is there NO mention of the OKC Bombing in the article yet when you google the song name, it comes up In the suggested listings? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.42.222.172 (talk) 04:42, 13 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

If you think something should go in the article, put it in. Remember to add a reference from an appropriate source. Thegraciousfew (talk) 06:15, 14 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Addition to pop culture appearances

[edit]

Just yesterday, I found a rerun of the soap opera, "One Life to Live". The fictional in-show band, Midnight Logic, performed a cover of Lightning Crashes at the opening of the episode which aired on April 16, 2003. This episode may be found on YouTube for reference and cataloguing. The link is "blacklisted" so I can't post a direct link here. Look up the episode by date, and it should pop up in search results.

I'm not sure how to word this and make all the links correctly. But there's the facts, and people who are more knowledgeable with such things may insert the addition. Slfarrell (talk) 15:59, 22 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
