Removal of two sections
[edit]These two sections are unreferenced, and somewhat confusing. The Technique section gives the reader only one technique (rehearsal), instead some vague artistic inspiration. The Difference section needs sources. At this point, the removed material is also original research.Theinterior (talk) 04:05, 14 July 2010 (UTC)
- Technique
The performance has to be rehearsed and every singel tread and step ist necessary for the result, even if seems insignificant. It's an artistic expression and there are no frontiers for this art. The coordination of the different parts of the photographer and the artists for a LAPP is very important, but also the creativity, fantasy and the imagination.
- Difference
Even though the Light Art Performance Photography descends from the light writing and light painting there are big differences. The most important is the integration of the figures and performances in the scenery and the landscape. It harmonizes or it makes a contrast, but it's always in a close relationship. The scenery is often researched and the performance is individually created. Computers or software aren't involved for this photos. Also it's only a single shot and no overlay of different shots.

Not convincing
[edit]To say that someone 'invented' this technique is a bold claim. Factually, it is only the name (which itself is a neologism) that might be claimed, since Gjon Mili and Pablo Picasso's 1949 collaboration established the techniques described here. A lack of familiarity with the history of photography and vanity often leads to the production of such misleading articles as this. A remedy would be to look at the brief potted history at http://lightpaintingphotography.com/light-painting-history/ to see this is nothing new. The reference given (a brief diploma thesis? For what qualification?) merely cites JanLeonardo's website and records an interview with him. It is not an independent reference. This article should be merged with 'Light Painting'. As always, I am happy to be corrected.JamesMcArdle 11:31, 15 March 2016 (UTC)
To me LAPP seems to be a rather typical way of light painting. Even the Picasso/Mili showed not only the drawing but also the background. Also the term itself seems mostly be used by one artist (JanLeonardo) to describe his work. The article should either be merged with the 'Light Painting' article or discarded altogether. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 112.134.16.130 (talk) 18:51, 25 December 2017 (UTC)
