Reliable sources, undue weight, and referencing
[edit]Wikipedia has certain standards because it is an encyclopedia. They are not "my" standards, and they include not blowing things out of all proportion (undue weight); not using self-published sources or books that cannot be shown to exist; and adding an accurate reference (not translated or with the spelling changed, and with complete publication info and preferably the page number) so that readers can verify the information. Local history journals, old books available only in pdf, newspaper reports - all of these are fine. It's no problem if it's in a foreign language. But it must be in teh article and the article must present the facts in a balanced and accurate manner. The Brödel book is not listed in either the German National Library or OCLC Worldcat. Perhaps tehre is a suitable reference in the book by him that is listed there? or in some other source? But in any case, people who never actually lived in Lichte should not be listed in a section on people associated with the place. Nor should local academics (or athletes or any other class of people) who are not notable enough to have their own article. Yngvadottir (talk) 15:10, 29 April 2011 (UTC)
