Unexplained re-addition of material
[edit]Most of the material in this article is unsourced and excessively detailed. This is an encyclopedia, not an indiscriminate collection of information. Dsprc, you re-added this content without an edit summary. Can you please explain why? --Dr. Fleischman (talk) 05:11, 19 June 2016 (UTC)
- @Dr. Fleischman: Working on it (you can help!); Model is Wikimania. Can primary source to site itself in interim; 3rd-party forthcoming. Removed stuff about t-shirts and all that. How is it indiscriminate? -- dsprc [talk] 23:55, 21 June 2016 (UTC)
- Wikimania is a much bigger event that's covered every year by reputable news outlets such as the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal. LibrePlanet isn't. In addition Wikimania is in a different major city every year. Our article on it identifies the city, rather than the specific venue. Here, all of the LibraPlanet events have been in the same city and the article identifies the venue, which is trivia. --Dr. Fleischman (talk) 18:12, 9 July 2016 (UTC)
- I'm going to agree with you, using Wikimania's table as a model for this page doesn't make sense. I think it would be better to have this information in paragraph form. --OMouse (talk) 18:03, 26 July 2016 (UTC)
I've removed the table due to lack of response. If anyone feels the removal was unwarranted, please explain your position here. --Dr. Fleischman (talk) 16:36, 26 July 2016 (UTC)
improving the page
[edit]what are the steps toward improving this page? referencing more outside materials like news sites? I'm sure the recent conf with ed snowden in it will have some talk of libreplanet in more mainstream articles --OMouse (talk) 21:44, 13 July 2016 (UTC)
- Yes, the article could use more content and sources supported by reliable sources such as reputable news articles. --Dr. Fleischman (talk) 22:33, 13 July 2016 (UTC)
