This article is about the ground of Swansea City A.F.C.. As you can see it doesn't have much information! Bornintheguz 14:06, 22 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Photo

[edit]

It's not brilliant, but it's about the best I could do from the window of a passing train on the up line. I might see if I can get a better picture from the down line next time I head some. Chris talk back 19:19, 25 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Also down towards bottom of the page can an updated google (aerial) photo be placed as the up-do-date version now shows the stadium in all of its glory Craig Map 00:32, 22 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The name

[edit]

This article is showing up in Category:Articles with unsourced statements due to the comment "However, many fans still prefer to use the working title of White Rock." Whilst I appreciate the idea of carrying on the name (copper works and all that), the most common name I hear is the Morfa. So can we either find a cite or lose this? Apparently we couldn't find a cite so I nuked it. Telsa (talk) 13:37, 2 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Capacity

[edit]

Practically since it was created, the article has said 20,280 for the capacity. BBC last night reported 20,530, and during the game (Ospreys v Aus), the television showed the higher number come up on the board in the stadium. It's mentioned in the press today. So where did the figure 20,280 come from? Telsa (talk) 13:37, 2 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I remember the figure of 20,280 coming from news reports but checking on the web now the figure varies depending on which site you look at. The number of seats can be anything from 20,000 to 20,580. There is also talk of increasing the capacity by 3,000 seats or so, since at the moment they have to turn fans away from Swans matches due to high demand. I don't think you can ever put an exact figure on it as they can put in temporary seating sometimes to cope with demand. I also wonder if the VIP boxes/rooms are taken into account when counting seats since they can have loads of variation in temporary seating. Maybe the most accurate thing that can be stated is that the stadium has just over 20,000 seats. (Sloman 17:30, 7 November 2006 (UTC))[reply]
When I head down to the Stadium tomorrow to purchase Crewe tickets I will ask for the official seating figure Craig Map 00:36, 22 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Did you get a chance to do this, Craig Map? Because the latest number is different again. The BBC reported the Boxing Day derby crowd as "sell-out" and "20,500". Telsa (talk) 14:37, 2 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
When I was at the Liberty Stadium today I asked in the Ticket Office for the official attendance which was quoted at 20,532 Craig Map 23:43, 21 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
