[edit]I don't see how including the first person to score a touchdown at a highschool stadium in the 1950s is anywhere near encyclopedic for an article on a town. It should be removed —Preceding unsigned comment added by 167.7.17.3 (talk) 12:29, 31 October 2008 (UTC)
Renovation
[edit]I am currently doing a major update of this article. I added the entire history section, the origins, and reorganized the film and Liberty Idol headings to fall under Culture. Where possible, I did my utmost at avoiding verbal recounts of the events mention, and any other rumors and hearsay that I could not find documented anywhere. As of the date of this post, I have not listed the references for my posts due to time, but I shall do so within the next few days.
I intend here soon to expand the education section a good deal. Regarding the history section, I have not been able to find any suitable sources to fill in the gap from the 1980s to the present. Anyone who has access to such sources should feel free to add to this section. I was looking to add a section under culture devoted to the old Liberty Fest event, but I could not find any suitable accounts of its history, like when it started and when it ended. I also plan to put some historic pictures up of the town when I get the chance. --Govtmercenary88 (talk) 02:57, 3 August 2010 (UTC)
I have added in all references used for any relevant information that I put on the page myself (All of my citations are in Chicago Style format). --Govtmercenary88 (talk) 03:40, 10 August 2010 (UTC)
problem with dates
[edit]some of the dates in the article make no sense. for example:
- This post office remained in operation until February, 1776, three years after the first Liberty post office was established by in 1873.
so obviouisly ether the 1776 is wrong or the 1873 is wrong, but I cant tell because there are several other simolar errors, which means i have no context. someone whoknows needs to fix this. 98.71.244.147 (talk) 18:09, 19 May 2011 (UTC)
