[edit]This page is premature. There has been no vote to spill the leadership positions of the party. All indications are that such a vote will fail. Only after the positions are spilled and thus become vacant, will there be a leadership election. See. e.g. http://www.theaustralian.com.au/politics/kevin-andrews-confirms-bid-for-liberal-leadership-against-malcolm-turnbull/story-e6frgczf-1225803663592 58.110.144.6 (talk) 01:43, 25 November 2009 (UTC)
- The spill motion has failed. There is no leadership election. This page is redundant. 58.110.144.6 (talk) 02:27, 25 November 2009 (UTC)
- Not anymore it aint. Abbott will be Liberal leader in 24 hours, even Laurie Oakes said as much. 124.184.96.26 (talk) 07:08, 26 November 2009 (UTC)
- And how would Laurie Oakes know? He's a journalist. Yes, there's seven Liberal MPs resigning from the frontbench, but we don't know who would replace Turnbull or when. Timeshift (talk) 07:11, 26 November 2009 (UTC)
- Well it's all up in the air at the moment. If a leadership election does eventuate I'll withdraw the AfD nom. But not a moment before then. Digestible (talk) 07:21, 26 November 2009 (UTC)
- So what about Ms O'Dwyer? :) Timeshift (talk) 07:23, 26 November 2009 (UTC)
- O'Dwyer's existence is not hypothetical. :P Digestible (talk) 08:48, 26 November 2009 (UTC)
- Both are almost certain to occur :) Timeshift (talk) 10:16, 26 November 2009 (UTC)
- One has already occured, some 32 years ago. The other hasn't. Digestible (talk) 10:52, 26 November 2009 (UTC)

Did Fran Bailey have an operation?
[edit]Turnbull supporter Fran Bailey was unable to vote as she was recovering from an operation and unable to attend.[7]
- The reference provided does not support the claim that Fran Baily had an operation. It says only that she had a medical condition, that she was admitted into hospital and that she had an MRI. If nobody has a reference to the effect that she actually had an operation, I'd delete this particular claim. --Susurrus (talk) 04:12, 6 December 2009 (UTC)
- Fixed. Timeshift (talk) 04:29, 6 December 2009 (UTC)
Note 23
[edit]Note 23 - It's not clear that the quote about "bastardry" referred to Turnbull's action in the original article.
- Yes I can see that ambiguity - I'll remove it from the article because of the ambiguity. Thank you. --Mkativerata (talk) 01:08, 9 July 2010 (UTC)
