Re title of page, it isn't for wikipedia to decide what the LibDems may - or may not - call their team. As such 'shadow cabinet' is perfectly valid. --Vamp:Willow 13:32, 13 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

It's for parliament custom to decide and wiki to report, and no one but the LibDems uses the term. I have just re-checked Hansard and LibDems and only the Conservative Opposition are listed as Shadow X for X. Claiming to be a Shadow Cabinet, a position held consitutionally by the second largest party, was a political gesture by the LibDems which by endorsing Wiki is not staying NPOV. Either Shadow shoukd be removed (my preference) or in all instances.Alci12 13:46, 24 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I agree that this article's title is not in line with the NPOV policy and therefore have tagged it accoringly. Not sure what I think the article should be called instead though SP-KP 18:55, 5 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I was going to recommend calling the article the Liberal Democrat Frontbench Team, but there appears to be an article already of this name, containing identical information. I would therefore suggest either putting this forward for VfD, or merging it with the other article (not really necessary when no information would be lost). There is also still the issue of whether the term "Shadow" should be applied to each member of the frontbench team. Mattb90 21:31, 5 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Support merging with Liberal Democrat Frontbench Team, these are clearly the same thing and the latter is a more accurate term. Personally, I would use the phrase 'Liberal Democrat Spokesman on [subject]" in each case, as the BBC do. For example, Vincent Cable as the "Liberal Democrat Treasury Spokesman".
