Churchyard

[edit]

Removed from article: "There are also two features of the Church and graveyard which are considerabely unique. First is the cross above the door, not unlike many churches, this one however is upside down. Second are the inhabitants of the graveyard, many of the stones have strange or mythalogical markings on them. And oddly for the time (19th century) according to the stones many laid to rest were over one hundred years old." Such unusual statements need verifiable references: the anachronistic inscriptions are explained by the fact that many of these have been transferred from Staverton by Sabine Baring-Gould.--Felix Folio Secundus (talk) 21:45, 18 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This seems even more improbable today, even the third item. Would fail on NPOV and non-notable criteria.--Felix Folio Secundus (talk) 09:35, 19 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Lew TrenchardLewtrenchard – This is the name of both the settlement and civil parish per the Ordnance Survey, a quick look at Google shows that the current name is far less common. Crouch, Swale (talk) 21:48, 17 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
