I’m not convinced this is his debut album with the band. There’s no source for the statement, and same for the personnel section at the bottom. If you look at the liner notes of the album, no bassist is credited. But we do know that Greg recorded for the album. What I don’t know is if he was recorded over. I’m under the assumption that Greg was removed from the credits following their dispute, despite being the one who played the bass. It would also explain why Todd wasn’t credited. Any thoughts? In addition to this, there are cases where albums have the same title as a song in the album. For all we know the album might be the primary topic. ― Blaze The WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#654516:22, 30 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Move- Put a DAB page at the base title. WP:NCMDAB says "If the title of a musical group or a recording does not share its title with any other topic in Wikipedia, use the base title". The album is not as popular as The Beatles, and the song has charted. --Jax 0677 (talk) 17:55, 30 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Jax 0677: You're the one who proposed this move. Your vote doesn't count outside of the proposal. Also, what do the Beatles have to do with anything related to this song? ― Blaze The WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#654520:31, 30 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Reply - WP:NCMDAB says "For example, the Beatles are a primary topic due to their historical relevance in sources and is determined to be the primary topic against other articles of the same or similar name". --Jax 0677 (talk) 00:56, 1 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Yep, we got that. But this is basically a WP:TWODABS among two closely related topics, and I find it pointless to have a dab just to force the reader to choose one (heck, the best coverage would be to have both on the same page). Let's have a full RM. No such user (talk) 20:43, 30 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose. There are several possible options but this RM would at best be part of one of them, if even that. The song is the title track of the album. It's not obvious which is the more significant or likely to be the search term; Both peaked at #1 on at least one chart, and both received mixed reviews... which virtually all punk rock does, as anything that appealed to all punk rock fans probably wouldn't be punk rock anyway. The article on the song is short and it's not obvious how it will ever expand, while that on the album is more substantial. No call for a two-way DAB IMO, or for a merge, the album article is long enough as is and the song is notable. So even if we moved the article on the album, we would probably want to leave the redirect from the base name pointing to the album article. That seems pointless too. So leave it as is IMO. Oppose - Geberally speaking, in these situations, we consider the album the primary topic, and disambiguate the song article title. That's how it already is, so no change is necessary. Sergecross73msg me14:51, 8 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
