Fair use rationale for Image:Mxpx-lets rock v2.jpg

Image:Mxpx-lets rock v2.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Song origins

Does anyone know where any of these songs originated? The liner notes don't have any info about them, like when or where they were recorded or what albums they are b-sides from. If there's a source for this somewhere it would help add more content to the article. --IllaZilla (talk) 21:18, 2 February 2008 (UTC)

All the additional info I know about is already in the article, i.e. "Make up your Mind" was on the Broken Bones 7", and "Sweet Sweet Thing" is a tweaking of the song "Family Affair", a bonus track in the Japanese release of Before Everything & After (not found on American version). I think most of the songs are Panic b-sides. →EdGl 22:17, 2 February 2008 (UTC)

I did some digging through the MxPx website's old news posts & found a few helpful bits here and here:

• "Sweet Sweet Thing" is an acoustic demo that eventually became "Family Affair", a Before Everything & After b-side that appeared as a bonus track on the Japanese release of the album. Mike says: "That song wasn't ever supposed to be released as a b-side. It was a song that we finished up but I wasn't really ever happy with it. The story behind that is, we were in the studio for Before Everything & After and there was just...I just kept changing the chorus, I'd rewrite the chorus, I'd rewrite the words, the music, the melody, everything kept changing. I'd add a bridge here and there, there was like 2 bridges in the song. It just kind of got, too much, you know. It's a simple song that should have been just straightforward. The original song title was 'Sweet Sweet Thing' and I just ended up going back to that. The song's done...it's just the demo version, like, all the songs I usually, we do for records I demo out acoustically, and I'll just play it through just with me and a guitar and kind of hear what's going on with that. So 'Sweet Sweet Thing' is just acoustic on the album."
• Mike (and one of the news posts) says that the original recording of "You Walk, I Run" was on the "Broken Bones" 7-inch, but that's not true. I have that 7-inch and that song isn't on it. According to another post, the original "You Walk, I Run" was actually on the Japanese & Australian "Responsibility" singles. I guess that would make it a The Ever Passing Moment outtake, though the Let's Rock version is re-recorded. The acoustic version is the original demo from The Ever Passing Moment sessions.
• "Make Up Your Mind" was on the "Broken Bones" 7-inch but was re-recorded for Let's Rock.

That's all I could find. As for the other 8 songs, there doesn't seem to be any information about which albums they are b-sides from. Let's Rock seems to compile outtakes from 3 albums: The Ever Passing Moment, Before Everything & After, and Panic. But except for the 3 songs detailed above we've got no info about which songs came from which sessions. --IllaZilla (talk) 21:05, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
