Retiring by resigning?

[edit]

For the record, I would note that Mr Hinton is definitely old enough to retire, at age 67. Is it true he started working at age 15? Here is a quote and Rupert Murdoch said in testimony today, Les Hinton served for 52 years! This would be interesting. "Les Hinton, 67, was the executive responsible for running Mr. Murdoch’s British newspapers at the time the most egregious known examples of the hacking occurred. Mr. Hinton was one of Mr. Murdoch’s closest deputies and a veteran of News Corporation for more than 50 years." http://mediadecoder.blogs.nytimes.com/2011/07/15/les-hinton-chief-of-dow-jones-resigns/ As the article on Mr. Hinton expands due to his place in history, I would like to see more about his accomplishments and longtime service.
