A male Lang's short-tailed blue (Leptotes pirithous) in the Nature Park of Alvão, Portugal. This small butterfly has an expansive range, covering southern Europe along the Mediterranean coast through Asia Minor and most of Africa and Madagascar, where it is found primarily in varied wasteland, cultivated areas and gardens.Photograph: Charles J.
