Sounds like they were in his class in the 1960s
[edit]If he retired from teaching in 1970, there is no way they were in his class in the early 70s. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.179.96.38 (talk) 22:52, 20 September 2010 (UTC)
Simpsons named a character after him...
[edit]I'm sure that the principal from the simpsons being named after him and given a similar background history should be added.199.43.48.131 (talk) 13:18, 21 September 2010 (UTC)
His name appears in "Hello Muddah, Hello Faddah!"
[edit]Is it known what his reaction was to the evidently coincidental appearance of his name ("You remember / Leonard Skinner? / He got ptomaine pois'ning last night after dinner!") in Allan Sherman's classic parody song? Dave Zobel (talk) 16:50, 16 December 2011 (UTC)
The Lynyrd Skynyrd article's Early years section currently notes that the band's name "was in part a reference to a character named 'Leonard Skinner' in Allan Sherman's novelty song 'Hello Muddah, Hello Fadduh' and in part a mocking tribute to P.E. teacher Leonard Skinner".
