- Are you sure that the source of File:Leon P. Miller Portrait 1954.jpg, St. Paul Recorder 's 1954 publication is copyrighted?
- Given that it was published in 1954, and I could not find any information stating that this was in the public domain, I wanted to err on the side of caution. -- West Virginian (talk) 00:18, 17 February 2022 (UTC)
- Well, in that case, did you find any information stating that it was/is copyrighted? Does any of the pages of that issue or similar issues have "copyright" or its symbol printed? Because if it was published between 1927 and 1977, without any copyright notice, {{PD-US-no-notice}} applies. – Kavyansh.Singh (talk) 10:03, 17 February 2022 (UTC)
- Kavyansh.Singh Thank you so much for providing this additional information. I just reviewed the newspaper at Chronicling America and could not find copyright information. I’m addition, Chronicling America’s website states, "The Library of Congress believes that the newspapers in Chronicling America are in the public domain or have no known copyright restrictions. Newspapers published in the United States more than 95 years ago are in the public domain in their entirety. Any newspapers in Chronicling America that were published less than 95 years ago are also believed to be in the public domain, but may contain some copyrighted third party materials." With that said, I feel comfortable using the above template for the image. I will update the image file this evening with the appropriate justification. Thank you for your guidance and patience as I resolve this matter. — West Virginian (talk) 12:10, 18 February 2022 (UTC)
