[edit]This page should not be speedily deleted because Leo Beukeboom was a significant figure to the art of signpainting. He was one of only a handful of signpainters who gained recognition as an artist, which was (and still is) rare for signpainters. Not only did he create a unique style that is synonymous with the region and culture, he also proved value in a dying art form with an extensive career extending over 30 years. The krulleletters tradition in Amsterdam started in the 1950's and he almost single-handedly maintained it until the early 2000's. I think people interested in design, typography, or art would benefit from knowing about Leo.
- I have declined the immediate deletion request to allow you time to improve the article. However, coverage in at least two or three different reliable sources is required, as a minimum, to support a biography. You need to seek out more sources that discuss Beukeboom in detail, such as books or national newspapers. (Also as an aside, please sign your comments when you write on talk pages; you can do this by typing four tildes (~~~~) or using the "Sign your posts on talk pages" button.)
