Observations:
- I noticed that the Plot section ends abruptly. Please take a look at that. GimmeLuv (talk) 20:58, 2 September 2013 (UTC)GimmeLuv
- The plot summary is 977 words, which is too long per the guidelines. The film does not seem to be complicated, so the summary should be within the range of 400-700 words. It may help to review how to write a plot summary to make it more concise.
- Lead section: There should not be a one-sentence paragraph since paragraphs should be well-rounded. Can the sentence be merged, or can some more detail be added about its reception?
- Cast: There is no need for the screenshot; we are not compelled to show characters in a film if their appearances are not much different from their appearances in real life. Carrey obviously has makeup, but the main poster image and the "Design" image seem to suffice. Optional suggestion: Brief description of each character to show their relationships to each other. For example, "Uncle Monty" is more of a surrogate uncle than a real uncle. This helps make the "Cast" section more than basic.
- In "Design", is it possible to rewrite the caption to reference the scene more directly? The first half of the caption is more about the general approach than the approach specific to the scene. In addition, the image in "Visual effects" does not add a lot, being based on one sentence about bluescreen. Non-free images should be backed by fuller commentary.
- In "Marketing", we do not need a second poster image; writing out the taglines is enough.
- For "Sequel(s)", can there be a better section heading? Perhaps "Planned franchise"?
- In "External links", can the "Dark Horizons" interview not be implemented in the article body?
These are my major concerns, which I ask to be addressed before I look closer at the writing and the referencing. —Erik (talk • contrib) 16:57, 14 July 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks for the review. I'm unexpectedly busy for the time being, so I'll address these concerns beginning Thursday night. I knew the Plot section was already long enough. I was going to fix that before I nominated the article........but I forgot. Anyway, thanks again. Wildroot (talk) 22:16, 14 July 2009 (UTC)
- OK, I just finished addressing your concerns, which included summarizing the Plot section. However, you may want to take a look at the section in case if you see anything odd. Thanks once again for the review. Wildroot (talk) 02:46, 18 July 2009 (UTC)
- Thank you for addressing the changes! I did some copy-editing, and I listed some minor items below to leave it up to you to address. Also, please provide alternate text for both images in the article; see Fight Club (film) for how to write them. (Alternate text is new to WikiProject Films, so let's pick it up and run with it.)
- Fixed. Wildroot (talk) 23:03, 19 July 2009 (UTC)
- There are many actors' names mentioned in the lead section and the neighboring infobox. Can this number be reduced to just the stars? After all, the "Cast" section outlines the rest of the major roles.
- Fixed. Wildroot (talk) 16:53, 19 July 2009 (UTC)
- Is there another way to say "being a James Mason-type"? Is there anything to explain why? Looking at the actor's Wikipedia article doesn't help clarify the director's intent.
- Reading the Daniel Handler interview makes me think that he is an avid movie buff. I'm sure that's just how he sort of saw Olaf when writing the books or something. He leaves it ambiguous as to why he said that. Wildroot (talk) 16:53, 19 July 2009 (UTC)
- "It was decided that changing the shoot..." Who decided?
- Fixed. Wildroot (talk) 16:53, 19 July 2009 (UTC)
- "Carrey remained with approval over the hiring of the next director." Does this mean he stayed because he had the power to approve the next director to be? It's not written quite clearly here.
- It just means that part of his contract gives him the power to have the final say on any director. Wildroot (talk) 16:53, 19 July 2009 (UTC)
- Did the quote "was offered credit" start with "I"? You can treat it as a full quotation, then.
- Fixed. Wildroot (talk) 16:53, 19 July 2009 (UTC)
- The plan to make the film a musical seems added on belatedly. Could it be moved to some point where Sonnenfeld hired Handler to write the screenplay as an idea to consider?
- Fixed. Wildroot (talk) 16:53, 19 July 2009 (UTC)
- When was the Cinerama Dome premiere held? Premieres are held before film's commercial releases.
- Fixed. Wildroot (talk) 21:50, 19 July 2009 (UTC)
- I'm not sure about rounding the million-dollar figures after two decimal places... why not include the exact figures? Also, where did the film rank on its opening weekend, facing the mentioned competition?
- Fixed. Wildroot (talk) 21:50, 19 July 2009 (UTC)
- For the Metacritic sentence, can the website's consensus, "generally favorable reviews", be mentioned?
- Fixed. Wildroot (talk) 16:53, 19 July 2009 (UTC)
- If you could address these changes and add the alternate text, I'll be happy to promote this article as a Good Article. (Admittedly, it makes me want to see the film now!) —Erik (talk • contrib) 15:56, 19 July 2009 (UTC)

- OK, I have finished addressing your additional concerns, but I'm somewhat skeptical with my work on the alternative text. Because this is my first time using alt text, you should probably check to see if it's OK. Otherwise, I think this article is ready. Wildroot (talk) 23:03, 19 July 2009 (UTC)
- It was a good effort! Nice job with the topic. I'm passing it. —Erik (talk • contrib) 23:35, 19 July 2009 (UTC)
