Rhone-Alps?

[edit]

I don't know where the Rhone-Alps information is from, but it's incorrect. According to the association "Les Familles Lemieux d'Amerique," the North American Lemieux are descended from a pair of half brothers, Pierre and Gabriel, who emigrated from Rouen, France (in Brittany) to Quebec in 1643. I am changing this information on the page and citing the page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 140.103.177.240 (talk) 21:29, 13 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This information is from Behind the Name, and I have added the information back. The spellings are different: for the "North American", it is Lemieux, and for the "French" it is Lémieux (which does not mean "the best"). − Twas Now ( talkcontribse-mail ) 23:30, 13 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I would propose a separate page for that spelling, if it is in fact a distinct last name. Notice that all the people cited on the page are North America, and to imply that some of them may have descended from inhabitants of the Rhone region is misleading. Perhaps a disambiguation is in order?
Done. − Twas Now ( talkcontribse-mail ) 09:57, 14 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
