Does not meet GNG; no response from nominator
( )
- ... that Leickness Simbayi was on the research team that established the first national estimate of the HIV prevalence rate in South Africa? Source: https://books.google.com/books?id=hShAKcJJu2wC&printsec=frontcover&source=gbs_ge_summary_r&cad=0#v=onepage&q&f=false
- Reviewed: I still have to review another nomination and will post this here once it's done.

- @Lolanallie123: since you have less than 5 DYK credits, no QPQ is required. Yoninah (talk) 17:17, 18 June 2020 (UTC) Yoninah (talk) 17:17, 18 June 2020 (UTC)
- New enough, long enough, neutrally written, well referenced. However, I really don't see anything but primary references and papers that he's written in the notes section. His bios at the Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior and the Human Sciences Research Council do not show GNG. Don't you have interviews that he's done with newspapers or magazines (not asking for his opinion, but a whole interview all about him)? That would also help improve this article from a resume-like write-up to something more well-rounded, and would also give you more colorful information to write a better hook.
- Right now the hook just talks about him as part of a team, when in fact he has done plenty of things on his own. It is also written rather dryly; why would someone who doesn't live in South Africa be interested in clicking on it and reading more?
- No QPQ needed for nominator with less than 5 DYK credits. Yoninah (talk) 21:47, 15 July 2020 (UTC)
- It looks like this has been nominated by a student editor who stopped posting on Wikipedia the day after nominating this. I have queried at the talk pages of the Wiki Editors working with the students to see if they can help here. Otherwise the nomination will be closed as unsuccessful. - There has been no response from the course coordinators, nor has anyone else decided to adopt this. With the issues still remaining this is now marked for closure. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 13:15, 25 July 2020 (UTC)
