"Due to the very long half-life of M1 (approx. 2 weeks), a loading dose of 100 mg for 3 days was used in clinical studies to reach steady-state levels of M1 quickly." It may be nit-picking (or not even right!) but a I think a loading dose speeds up the time to the therapeutic range rather than speeds up time to steady state - which is always 4-5 half lives. If anyone agrees why don't you change it? 220.245.21.8 10:21, 27 December 2006 (UTC)drj55
Even though loading dose can be used to get leflunomide concentrations to therapeutic level quicker, loading doses are falling out of favour due to the increase incidence and severity of side effects, especially nausea and diarrhea. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.171.176.28 (talk) 13:42, 18 April 2011 (UTC)
