Leech Lake is not in Chisago County, it is located in Cass County, Minnesota. The name is not taken from the amount of Leeches in its waters, it is a centuries old American Indian name of the lake that has been translated. Leech Lake is the third largest lake within the boarders of Minnesota at over 110,000 acers.
