Bible versions
[edit]I've reverted/corrected the reference to Bible versions. The Greenwood edition was never allowed to use the NIV, though they announced they would, and it only ever used the KJV. Please read the references to an item you're "correcting".--Hugh7 (talk) 01:09, 2 April 2024 (UTC)
Just an observation
[edit]I notice Lee was born Oct 1942.... I didn't see him in Vietnam with me? It's much easier to sing and wear a flag than to fight for it.
Shakespeare said it best in his famous St. Crispin's Day Speech delivered by Henry V before the Battle of Agincourt:
From this day to the ending of the world,
But we in it shall be remembered,
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers.
For he today that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition.
And gentlemen in England now abed
Shall think themselves accursed they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That fought with us upon Saint Crispin's Day. The-Expose-inator (talk) 19:38, 14 September 2012 (UTC)
- Sorry to break up your poetic moment, but here's an explanation http://www.snopes.com/music/artists/greenwood.asp --CutOffTies (talk) 21:20, 15 September 2012 (UTC)
- Don't you know, man? Facts don't matter to The-Expose-inator! He speaks from his heart and his gut. 75.164.252.87 (talk) 18:54, 16 September 2012 (UTC)
Sorry but the facts are, your draft board doesn't just assign you a 3A deferment, you got to fight to avoid the draft to get one. And when you do, then someone less eligible gets to go in your place. I hardly find that admirable! The-Expose-inator (talk) 23:13, 5 October 2012 (UTC)
- Okay The-Expose-inator, what is your proof that Lee Greenwood "fought" to get his classification, or that anyone had to fight to receive the 3A classification? 75.164.252.87 (talk) 19:57, 14 October 2012 (UTC)
- The Snopes article quotes Greenwood as saying that he was 3A because he "had children" at age 17. It seems a bit odd that this article does not discuss his family life previous to his fourth marriage. That seems unusual compared to other biographies of living persons.Msalt (talk) 14:07, 13 April 2024 (UTC)
- Lee, I don’t like you for aligning yourself to Trump! But putting yourself on the promotional with a crude person is shows that you are have sold your soul to a disgusting, corrupt man tells me you have no soul! You have a chance to redeem yourself by speaking out against the biggest fraud of a POTUS!
- you may get away with it now but on judgement day you will be accountable for your actions AGAINST AMERICA! Is selling your soul to the devil ( Trump)will be your downfall!
- HOW could you do this ?? 2600:8801:1880:1200:D8C5:9414:CEF6:4FEE (talk) 23:24, 17 May 2024 (UTC)
- I doubt he cares 2605:4A80:A201:100:B136:2EC2:A13:3B9D (talk) 02:16, 16 July 2024 (UTC)
