[edit]This article is intended to discuss how public schools identify, evaluate, and treat students with learning disabilities in the context of special education, IDEA, ADA and Section 504. Parts of this information was interspersed in the Wiki article "Learning Disabilities." The article covered too broad an area of information, and it was determined that it would be more helpful to have separate articles for learning disabilities from a psychological perspective and information about how LD students are handled in the public-school environment.
The original article now contains information about the psychological processes and manifestations of learning disabilities in students. It does not include information about how schools handle learning disabilities, in part because this varies by country. The original article does not cover the legal requirements that schools must fulfill in working with children with learning disabilities.
This article probably should not include legal information regarding IDEA in general. However, I think it would be appropriate to include legal information directly related to how learning disabilities are to be addressed by the schools.

Contributions?
[edit]I would like to contribute a section just on some of the disorders that are placed in Special Education, and also give some insight on how it maybe affects the child in the program? Kls092810 (talk) 05:16, 30 November 2010 (UTC)
