Fair use rationale for Image:Leamingtoncrest.jpg
[edit]Image:Leamingtoncrest.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 22:33, 5 June 2007 (UTC)

Thanks but the point has already been made that Leamington is surprisingly far south...
One Person Not Referenced
[edit]Once again I Hope I don't seem random, but A person who formerly lived in Ruthven, has trained international famed Troy Maillis who at the Olympics. See www.jonesbahamas.com/txt.php?a=13785 , being , Mr. Mailis top student has considered tryign for the olympic, & is a profession Tumber at Gainsville, Flordia

If this is correct, someone should make a page for Ruthven and put this in that article, not Leamington.
David Suzuki
[edit]According to his Wikipedia page, David Suzuki was born in Vancouver and only lived in Leamington for two years before moving to London. It's kind of misleading to say he is from there.

Sandra Campbell
[edit]Regarding "not notable person" comment, see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miss_Universe_1975#Contestants for proof of Sandra Campbell Miss Dominion of Canada: Miss Universe 1975 Pageant El Salvador. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Umich918 (talk • contribs) 16:58, 23 January 2017 (UTC)
- "Notable" in the Wikipedia sense for lists of notable people generally means "having an article". As there is no article for Sandra Campbell (beauty contestant), she doesn't belong in the list. †dismas†|(talk) 17:48, 23 January 2017 (UTC)
An article can be easily constructed, which will be done. Ms. Campbell died in 2015 and as Canada's representative in Miss Universe and Miss World pageants, plus two other international beauty pageants, in addition to being a celebrity on Australian television, she should definitely be recognized as a notable person from Leamington. Beauty pageants have diminished somewhat in popularity over time, but in 1975, the Miss Universe pageant had a larger viewing audience than 1975's Super Bowl IX. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Umich918 (talk • contribs) 18:38, 23 January 2017 (UTC) In the videotape recordings of the 1975 Miss Universe pageant swimsuit competition broadcast, Bob Barker introduces her, and she says, "I'm Sandy Campbell from Leamington, Ontario!" to a viewing audience estimated to be 80 million people worldwide. Quite a notable moment for Leamington. Another attempt will be made to undo the deletion of Ms. Campbell from the Leamington page.
- It has been mentioned both here and at the help desk that Ms. Campbell should not be included without a corresponding Wiki article. Please do not try to add her until one has been created and accepted. Continual back and forth changes to an article is known as edit warring and editors can be blocked for doing so irrespective of the rights and wrongs of the debate. - User:Umich918 and User:2602:30A:2C90:1AB0:2CCD:448C:A3EF:D6C6 (who have both been making the same edit to this article), I share your pain. For years I have been trying include Gladys Love as a notable person at Saltillo, Mississippi (just look at that article's history), but pas cadeaux as they say in the Ontario Lotto. As was explained at the help desk, notability is generally established by having a Wikipedia article. While WP:CCSG doesn't list the criteria for inclusion on a notable people list, WP:USCITIES#Notable people states that those on the list should meet the criteria at WP:PEOPLE. If they meet those criteria, but don't yet have an article, inclusion should be discussed at the article's talk page (here). WP:Source list infers the same thing. To establish notability for Ms. Campbell, I have searched Google, Highbeam, J-stor, and even Bing, and have found just this one short article (and two newspapers that require a subscription to view). My two cents is that Sandra Campbell is unfortunately in the same boat as Gladys Love. Magnolia677 (talk) 21:47, 23 January 2017 (UTC)
