Can someone more in the know explain the following statement: "Father Kérandec, his gardener, comes and asks him to be the godfather to his son."Srednuas Lenoroc (talk) 00:01, 13 December 2015 (UTC)
Srednuas Lenoroc (talk) 00:18, 13 December 2015 (UTC)
- I'd say it's rather obvious that Kérandec is the old navy doctor's gardener and father of a son (not "Father" in a religious meaning), and Kérandec asks the doctor to become the godfather of Kérandec's son. Huon (talk) 00:37, 13 December 2015 (UTC)
Is this on assumption or do you know the story? I would rather rely on someone who know the story which if that is the situation what is translated in the English/American WP is not expressed that way. But I can see how convoluted the translation might appear if that translation was not very good.Srednuas Lenoroc (talk) 02:47, 13 December 2015 (UTC)
