[edit]This article mentions that the "fast is somewhat mitigated" on Lazarus Saturday so that wine and oil are allowed. Wine and oil are allowed on every Saturday and Sunday during Great Lent and Holy Week, so this does not point out any special place for Lazarus Saturday.[1] — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.127.93.39 (talk) 04:26, 28 April 2013 (UTC)

Picture appropriateness
[edit]Please see the discussion that up to now has been at User_talk:Lipsio#article_"Lazarus_Saturday"-_2nd_picture. Basically, Micheledisaverio replaced an icon with a very nice Italian oil painting. I reverted that because "If the article were about the Raising of Lazarus, that would be appropriate, perhaps even as the primary picture. But, since the article is about an Eastern Orthodox holy day, only icons, methinks, are appropriate." A discussion ensued, making me opine that others' input be solicited. Meanwhile, for good faith, I've edited back in the added picture in addition to the one it had replaced Vincent J. Lipsio (talk) 14:10, 21 March 2018 (UTC)
- Hi everybody. We have agreed about the fact that since the article is about an Eastern Orthodox holy day, only icons, methinks, are appropriate. With an exception for the italian painting, and its special technical ability. The third picture, even if it is/has been placed in a Church, or something similar, seems to have some "unclear and ambivalents" forms or meanings. It does not hurt my personal faith, but this is possible for other people...
- There are some pictures on wikipedia commons, at this link: all the three pictures now present in the article are listed in this category. Therefore, anyone possibly interested to the discussion may suggest an another choice into this category. Or add a new picture at all.Micheledisaverio (talk) 19:50, 27 March 2018 (UTC)
