Request to edit page for American painter Lawrence Gipe. Requesting to make grammatical, syntax and practical information edits per request of the artist. I have previously been given permission to edit pages of artists for similar reasons, without incident. Not given reason or warning for blocking from edits. Please advise as to reasoning or motivation for block. Shanabethmason (talk) 07:49, 30 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Unfortunatly, it isn't. There is still not a single reliable source supporting anything in this article, and you certainly have not used any sources at all. Do you have any? See WP:RS. Thanks. - Roxy the English speakingdog19:32, 1 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Seven active links to source material have been added. Also, the last edits to this article were made in 2009, where all "related" persons to the artists are no longer present or relevant. Shanabethmason (talk) 09:27, 6 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Met the artist in person in 2012 during a group exhibition in Miami. Have maintained casual contact with the artist for the last decade, and was invited to lecture (remotely) to his students at the University of Arizona in 2014. The artist contacted me directly to ask for my assistance in correcting and properly sourcing his Wikipedia entry. I can provide his contact information to confirm, if needed. Sorry to disturb, but it seems my WP:COI request was declined. It seems the page simply has too many pre-existing errors and conflicts, most of which occurred between 2009-10 when the article was first written. Would it be easier to start a new page from scratch or must these issues be resolved entirely step-by-step here? Thanks for bearing with. Shanabethmason (talk) 11:53, 17 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
