Talk:Lawless (film)
Adding a section for Marketing and simply adding the release date of the trailer is superfluous and does not add value to the conversation, since nearly every film releases a trailer. The critical assessment of the material is what aids the reads in understanding the event and its impact. This discussion was most recently held for the films Skyfall and The Dark Knight Rises, regarding their marketing. Please refer specifically to the talk page for Skyfall in order to a read a more complete description of this decision and way of thinking regarding the inclusion of a Marketing section for film pages. Western??
[edit]Why is this film called a Western? 24.90.172.109 (talk) 04:25, 21 July 2012 (UTC)
- Because it is? Film Fan (talk) 10:44, 21 July 2012 (UTC)
- In order for it to be a Western, it would have to take place in the Old West, which it does not. — ᚹᚩᛞᛖᚾᚻᛖᛚᛗ (ᚷᛖᛋᛈᚱᛖᚳ) 03:42, 31 August 2012 (UTC)
WikiProject Georgia? wtf?
[edit]Why's this considered a part of WikiProject Georgia, merely because it was shot there, when the entire story revolves around Virginia? Do some of the Wikipedia editors need a lesson in geography? I mean hell, are all films shot in Hollywood considered a part of WikiProject California? — ᚹᚩᛞᛖᚾᚻᛖᛚᛗ (ᚷᛖᛋᛈᚱᛖᚳ) 03:41, 31 August 2012 (UTC)
Not correct
[edit]There are parts of the article dealing with the film that are not correct.
"Later, after Cricket leaves, the men return, slash Forrest's throat, and rape Maggie, revealing that they were employed by Rakes." wrong. It's not after Cricket leaves. It was not revealed until later that they worked for Rakes.
"Upon learning of what happened to Forrest, Banner provides Jack with the address of the two men who attacked him, as they're old associates of his. Forrest and Howard later find and kill the men to send a message to Rakes." wrong. Banner already knew what had happened.
"The money allows Jack to continue courting Bertha, while Forrest begins a relationship with Maggie after learning she took him to the hospital the night he was beaten, though she doesn't tell him she was raped." wrong. Forrest doesn't know that he was driven by Maggie until later in the film when she tells him.
"Jack eventually decides to show Bertha the distilation center, but they are ambushed by Rakes and his men, who had followed her. " wrong. Either they followed both of them (not just her) as they were driving together or neither as it appears they were already there.
"Rakes and Jack nearly kills him before they are forced to flee from Rakes's men with Bertha and Cricket, who is later recaptured and murdered by Rakes, who snaps his neck." Wrong. Cricket and Bertha left before Rakes and his men are confronted by the brothers.
"Wanting revenge for Cricket's death, Jack rallies the bootleggers with Howard's help, to confront Rakes and his men at a roadblock in the local bridge." wrong. Jack doesn't rally anyone. He goes on his own and they see him drive past.
"Forrest decides to join them after Maggie finally tells him Rakes' men raped her, and the bootleggers engage Rakes' men in a violent firefight, during which Rakes shoots Forrest multiple times before being shot in the leg and attempting to escape." wrong. Forrest was already on his way to follow Jack. 71.59.83.218 (talk) 01:46, 3 September 2012 (UTC)
More parts that are incorrect: "Howard and Jack are forced to flee from Rakes's men with Bertha and Cricket, however Cricket is later recaptured and murdered by Rakes." Jack sends Bertha and Cricket away while he stays with Howard to fight Rake's men. They both escape but Bertha and Cricket are both captured, not "recaptured" by the police. Bertha is sent home, and Rakes does murder Cricket.
"During a reunion at Jack's house, Forrest walks to a frozen lake and falls into the freezing water, dying from pneumonia 2 weeks later." The narrator, Jack, does not say how much later it is when Forrest dies of pneumonia, leaving the viewers in doubt. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.31.112.2 (talk) 23:14, 25 September 2012 (UTC)
