[edit]It's disgraceful we didn't already have this bio as a member of theNASand the IOP, and holder of a named professorship at Harvard. I started this on seeing her appointment to Weill-Cornell in the CHE. I am aware that it contains material that some may consider to reflect on her negatively, though she is known to have said that she herself does not think it does so, and I will add a quote to that effect. All of this material is sourced from the NYT and the CHE, 2 totally RSs, even for BLP, and I used exact quotation with quotation marks for the particular material in question.

[edit]The list of publications is from her Harvard official p.; it is somewhat longer than I sometimes include in such bios, but I think it important to give due weight to this unequivocal;y positive material.
If anyone who knows her sees this, we'd appreciate donation of a photograph under a free license, according to the formalities of WP:DCM DGG ( talk ) 23:54, 9 September 2011 (UTC)
- I concur. MaynardClark (talk) 16:24, 20 October 2016 (UTC)
I would like to add something about her early life, as this seems to be a standard feature of Wikipedia biographies. Also, some information about Laurie's parents would be useful, as well as more information about how her research has improved science. Moreover, I would like to have more information on the controversy surrounding the use of animals in research. I have some sources that will help to provide some of this information. While it is interesting to see the information about Dr. Glimcher's father and husband, shouldn't this be after her own accomplishments? I suggest moving this to a separate section on her family and taking it out of the intro summary.
- Her mother was Geraldine Lee Bogolub; she is the 2nd of his father's three daughters during his first of two marriages. MaynardClark (talk) 06:24, 15 September 2018 (UTC)
