[edit]Hmm... I've just worked on this a little, after moving it from Late night. I think it might need to be moved farther along to Late Night Talk Show or some such. I don't really know, maybe just a couple seperate sections instead... --Bookandcoffee 00:06, 19 October 2005 (UTC)
- Agreed -- this declares the idea "Late night television" to be pretty much talk shows and Adult Swim, as such things exist "today." I was half expecting (hoping for, anyway) a section on test patterns, endless "Here's Lucy" re-runs, Night Flight, SNL, and infomercials. But what do I know. 71.251.222.219 (talk) 17:36, 14 May 2008 (UTC)
- "Late night talk show" is what I searched for when I couldn't remember Craig Ferguson's name. How come no mention of The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson? And can someone figure out a way to mention Doc Severinson (sp?) under bandleaders? He certainly was well known, and Johnny included him in the schtick a bit. Other than those minor complaints, this is actually a pretty decent article (ok, maybe until it gets to the whole day/night part...). Thanks. PS, game shows are back in the late night line-up, with the resurrection of the Gong Show on CC. Huw Powell (talk) 00:12, 8 September 2008 (UTC)
US-CENTRIC
[edit]I believe this article is US-Centric, I mean I find no information on other countries.

- That is certainly correct. It must be remedied! Huw Powell (talk) 00:12, 8 September 2008 (UTC)
- As far as I know the concept of "Late night television" as a distinct genre is peculiar to the United States, so I think the best way forward is just to move the article to "Late night television in the United States". --Joey Roe (talk) 20:59, 30 May 2009 (UTC)
- The problem with doing this is that the time slot exists in other parts of the world, but it is programmed differently. It was OK to move the article, but I think there should be something to talk about the time slot itself. I wrote a barebones article as a start. It may not get much more than that. J. Missing info added
[edit]This otherwise-thorough article omitted the CBS Late Movie which was a major player in the 1970s and 80s, so I added a bit about that. 70.73.90.119 (talk) 06:00, 19 February 2020 (UTC)
