Assesment
[edit]I've assesed this article as stub class, simply from its lack of content. Some citation templates for the inline citations would also help. Cheers, Rock drum (talk·contribs·guestbook) 16:18, 16 June 2010 (UTC)
single
[edit]Has it been released as a single yet? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.201.126.9 (talk) 23:27, 16 June 2010 (UTC)
- Nope. --IllaZilla (talk) 23:45, 16 June 2010 (UTC)
- Yes, it's an official single 98.201.126.9. It's charting in Germany, a market which only allows official releases to chart (physical singles). IllaZilla instead of trashing my work, can you just make something more useful and find the so-called "reliable sources" as you call them? The official Green Day site treats this as the "next single" and you come here saying it has not been released. Can you stop please? And thousands of wiki pages have Amazon as source. Don't you tell me you don't even know. This is being sold in every digital store around the world, this has a single cover, this has video, this has a physical release and it isn't an official release according to IllaZilla. Some admin needs to handle this because it is becoming a joke. --JuMiguel (talk) 05:38, 20 June 2010 (UTC)
- Please see my comments at Talk:21st Century Breakdown#Last of the American Girls. To answer some of your specific points: The mention of "next single" on the official Green Day website is from way back in January, yet the official site contains no other mention of a single...no artwork, release date, or tracklisting (and I checked all the news posts going back to December). It is not "being sold in every digital store around the world": The only listing I can find on the US Amazon.com is for an import version that doesn't give a label or tracklist (and doesn't say which country it's being imported from). It is not available from the US iTunes store as a single; only as a download from the album. It appears that, if a single has been or will be released, it is not being released in the US market. In any case let's continue the discussion at the album talk page, where other editors have already chimed in. It's a higher-profile page and there are opinions already expressed there that are pertinent to the discussion. --IllaZilla (talk) 09:24, 20 June 2010 (UTC)
- could it be considered a radio single, becasue it is getting radio airplay? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.70.52.7 (talk) 00:34, 22 June 2010 (UTC)
Not a single?
[edit]How come this is not a single? It is, i have the CD single, every where else says it's a single except here. --Chickenguy12 (talk) 05:17, 31 July 2010 (UTC)
- Where did you acquire the CD single? I can't find a single reliable secondary source that discusses it or gives any details about it. Even Green Day's own website doesn't have any details about it. --IllaZilla (talk) 05:25, 31 July 2010 (UTC)
- I got it off eBay, well whatever, i thought it was a single, i might just have the promo single, whatever, sorry, though i thought Green Day's website didn't cover singles? --Chickenguy12 (talk) 10:34, 31 July 2010 (UTC)
- They don't seem to cover singles in their discography, but they have a fairly constantly updated news feed & you'd think it'd be mentioned in there somewhere. But I've searched their news posts going all the way back to early December 2009 & the only info regarding a "Last of the American Girls" single is the artwork you see here in the article. There's absolutely no information there about formats, a release date, track listing, etc...all the details you'd need to start a decent article. --IllaZilla (talk) 15:59, 31 July 2010 (UTC)
new section
[edit]i say a new section should be added under the singles section. it seems odd for a song to just be on the related articles. a section titled "other songs" like in shakira's article, should be used. or maybe "promotional singles" for song with videos but are not singles like "macy's day parade" and so on. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.252.211.224 (talk) 00:32, 11 August 2010 (UTC)
- The place to propose this would be at Template talk:Green Day, not here. But no, we're not going to create a separate section in the navbox just for 1 link. It's a navigation box, not a discography-in-a-box. --IllaZilla (talk) 04:52, 11 August 2010 (UTC)
ACTUALLY it would be for two links. Which seems acceptable, when you look at the "Tours" section. It would be Macy's Day Parade and Last of the American Girls. But I'm also PRETTY sure Last of the American Girls IS a single. 68.0.138.155 (talk) 23:33, 12 November 2010 (UTC)
iTunes?
[edit]I just bought it on iTunes though it was labled as an EP. should I edit and put the tracklisting of the EP? Could it also be considered a single now? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.42.150.205 (talk) 23:34, 29 October 2010 (UTC)
Single Status
[edit]It has been talked about that this may or may not be a single. I think you are idiots. Working Class Hero, The Simpson's Theme, and [I think] I Fought the Law are all digital download only, and two of them don't even have music videos, yet they're considered singles. This is a single, no argument. --24.255.37.229 (talk) 12:09, 22 December 2010 (UTC)
- Whether a song has a music video does not make it a single. A single is released in a stand-alone format, independent of the album. --IllaZilla (talk) 19:21, 22 December 2010 (UTC)
Links to an Amazon page have been posted where you can buy a physical copy, why is it still being argued over whether or not it's a single? --24.255.37.229 (talk) 01:38, 23 December 2010 (UTC)
- I found some reliable sources proving that Last Of the American Girls was released as an official single in both physical copy and digital download so i think the status now is clear 189.230.66.28 (talk) 09:49, 3 January 2011 (UTC)
- What is the source? Joseph507357 (talk) 20:30, 5 January 2011 (UTC)
