I think this article would be greatly improved if some one could add the year in which Last Word first came to Radio Four - so if anybody knows this fact, please go ahead. We could also add how initial plans for an obituary programme on radio met with some skepticism but the programme still turned out to be a success.81.140.1.129 (talk) 21:56, 12 February 2017 (UTC)
I have now added this - it was February 2006. I got this information from the "Last Word" page of the Radio Four website. The article on Matthew Bannister does cite a source for this information. Carltonio (talk) 19:48, 4 April 2017 (UTC)
August 18 2017 - Silverton was presenter
[edit]On August 18 2017, Kate Silverton was the presenter of the programme - I do not know what had happened to Matthew Bannister (perhaps he was on holiday). I have therefore modified the text accordingly. Vorbee (talk) 15:11, 18 August 2017 (UTC)
