Gamma Knife
[edit]Lars Leksell is a well known nurosurgeon and what-not. He is an idol for many who wish to study nuerology, the brain. The radiated beam that is used to destroy brain tumors and what-have-you comes from the Gamma Knife. The gamma knife emits radiated laser like projections, if you will, into the brain. The gamma knife allows lasers to destroy the tumor without damaging the soft tissue and what-have-you.
The gamma knife does not use lasers. It emits Gamma radiation from an array of cobalt sources.Duncanbourne 10:25, 18 October 2006 (UTC)
