2017/2018 Election

[edit]

Multiple IP Addresses and at least one registered user have attempted to include information about Larry Suffredin's 2017/2018 Election, but have done so in a manner that violates several of Wikipedia's policies. The violated policies include Wikipedia:Neutral point of view and prohibitions on advertising (please see Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not). These edits have sought to include positive information about one of Larry Suffredin's former opponents, have deleted information about any other opponents Larry Suffredin has had during this and previous elections, and have referenced sources that are about someone other than Larry Suffredin. While these edits are no longer about current events, they still violate the referenced policies and should not be included in this article. Gamerider (talk) 02:45, 5 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The 2018 election section was removed because it does not belong in this article. It is a section about current events that was primarily being used for opinion and conjecture about an on-going election. The section is drawing vandalism to the article and is not relevant to the living person that this article is about. Therefore it is in violation of Wikipedia guidelines and should be removed. — Preceding ----Gamerider (talkcontribs) 17:34, 4 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

User HughD should reveal their identity and why they are making repeated revisions to Sufferdin and other Democratic politicians' entries. HughD has been cited several times by Wikipedia for excessive changes to these articles. A little honesty and transparency is demanded, especially when the edits HughD repeatedly is making consist of unsubstantiated attacks made on Sufferdin by a political opponent in an upcoming primary election. I don't know who User:HughD is, but please remember to assume good faith regarding the edits made by other editors. There may or may not be a conflict of interest involved here (not surprising on a bio article about a living and active politician), but it's best to just keep an eye on such articles to ensure that WP:V/WP:NPOV/WP:OR/WP:BLP/etc. are being followed. I'm having problems finding the several citations "by Wikipedia" you are talking about, by the way. --DachannienTalkContrib 20:56, 31 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
