To add to article
[edit]Shouldn't we add that he was of Jewish heritage, and married to Jody Diamond? 98.123.38.211 (talk) 00:04, 10 May 2024 (UTC)
- I added that he is married to Jody Diamond. DoctorMatt (talk) 03:41, 10 May 2024 (UTC)
additional biographical information
[edit]I'm not sure how to cite it, but Larry Polansky was partnered with Amy Beal for the last dozen or more years of his life; she cared for him dutifully and with unfailing commitment during the decline of his health. This article should reflect that somehow.
- This information can only be added if it is included with a reference to a reliable source. DoctorMatt (talk) 18:28, 13 May 2024 (UTC)
- I attempted to add this as well. What is considered a reliable source for a person's relationship status? He has not been married to Jody Diamond for years (divorced around 2012 or 2013 I believe), and has been partnered with Amy Beal for over a decade. Irving bellemead (talk) 22:29, 13 May 2024 (UTC)
- It my attempted edit I noted that Larry Polansky and Amy Beal were "long term partners AND collaborators". That's easy to cite, given the many concerts / projects they were co-involved in. Given Beal's involvement in his creative activities, it seems reasonable and legitimate to note their relationship. Irving bellemead (talk) 22:38, 13 May 2024 (UTC)
- I don't know that a reliable source for a person's relationship status is any different from any other reliable source; please see WP:RS for lots of information about the use of reliable sources on Wikipedia. A review of a work or concert in a newspaper/magazine/book that mentions their connection, for example, would likely be a reliable source. Cheers! DoctorMatt (talk) 22:43, 13 May 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks. The problem is that something like "living together for over a decade" is not generally included in a concert note. I'll see if I can find a biographical note in a concert program or something that does mention the relationship. Irving bellemead (talk) 22:54, 13 May 2024 (UTC)
- Okay, I found a clear reference in the liner notes of a CD. I have posted the edit. Thanks. Irving bellemead (talk) 23:01, 13 May 2024 (UTC)
- The liner notes do not support the claim of "long time partner" so I reduced what you added to what is supported by the liner notes. Cheers! DoctorMatt (talk) 00:30, 14 May 2024 (UTC)
- But that’s not true. It directly says “his partner”. 2601:3C7:4200:A840:300F:54E0:8CCE:B4CB (talk) 00:33, 14 May 2024 (UTC)
- Ah, sorry, I missed that. I'll revert. Thanks! DoctorMatt (talk) 00:35, 14 May 2024 (UTC)
