Incorrect Personal Information

Larry was married to Elizabeth "Liz" Bell Samuels in the 1960's prior to his marriage to Olive. There was a stepdaughter Valerie. Liz performed stunt riding in several of the horse-related movies and Valerie had bit parts. 52.129.39.250 (talk) 21:44, 29 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The sources I cited indicate that he was married to Janet all through the sixties (from at least 1959 until her death in 1973). Do you have a source to back up your statement re: Liz?

Because if we allowed "this is true, I know it, trust me, I have no reason to lie" as a source, well... people would abuse that. Because humans are terrible. DS (talk) 14:48, 30 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your reply!!!! I am one of the sources - I am Valerie, Liz is my mother. I do believed they were married from 1965 until 1970 and we knew and liked Janet. I also had the "experience" for lack of a better word of meeting Olive who wanted to erase our existence from Larry's life and history.

Larry and my mother honeymooned in Hawaii, we lived at 4246 Oakwood Ave in La Canada and belonged to Flintridge Riding Club where I believe parts of The Horse in the Grey Flannel Suit were filmed. I had uncredited bit parts in Run Appaloosa Run and Brimstone The Amish Horse and my mother rode the riding stunts for both those films and some others. Larry also had two sons, Larry junior aka "Lor" who was in the Air Force and a younger son Brian who was in the Coast Guard.

It would be something if they never were married or if there was polygamy going on! Lol!

What else do you need? Pictures?

I'll admit that I inferred that Olive had been Larry's second wife, on the basis that I did not find any mention of him having been married to anyone other than Janet in the late fifties/early sixties, and Olive as of the mid seventies. The problem is, as I said, we can't just use "trust me, I lived it" as a source. What would happen if we add your mother to this article, and then one of Olive's children comes along and says "Janet, then Olive, and nobody in between - trust me, I lived it" ? How do we know who to believe? This isn't about your case specifically, it's the general principle. "This person who died +20 years ago had the following political opinions - trust me, I talked to them and they told me this."

Given that Larry won multiple Oscars, maybe there's some news coverage somewhere of "Lansburgh divorce" or "Lansburgh remarries"? Anything published that you could point to? Wedding announcement? Magazine article? Gossip column?

As for photos - it's the same problem. You show us a picture of a man and a woman. You say "this is Larry and Liz, six months after they were married" or whatever, but... the only source for the information is the person who says "Liz was married to Larry in the late 60s", and we don't have a source for that (yet).
