This Is Not Properly Named

[edit]

The name of this bridge is: Laredo - Colombia Solidarity International Bridge. Although the city of Laredo tends to not bother with the official name too often, the Texas Dept. of Transportation properly lists the name. To call it the Colombia - Solidarity International Bridge doesn't make sense. It raises the question, solidarity with whom? The significance of this bridge that sets it apart from the other international bridges in Laredo is that this is the only bridge that connects Laredo, Webb County, and Texas to the Mexican state of Nuevo Leon. All other Laredo bridges connect Laredo and Texas with the Mexican state of Tamaulipas. The Colombia Bridge is special because of this difference and the name of the bridge relfects the strong connection (solidarity) between the people of Laredo, Texas and the people of Colombia, Nuevo Leon. To reiterate, the official name of this bridge is Laredo - Colombia Solidarity International Bridge. I will be implementing this change shortly.
