Status of Occitan in Monaco
[edit]I'd like to dig further into the section titled Occitan.
Occitan
Occitan (or Lenga d'òc) has also traditionally been spoken in Monaco (particularly when it covered a larger geographical territory), but it is rarely used today. Occitan is a local language of Monaco.[citation needed]
It seems to me that these two sentences (which make up the entire section) contradict each other. Does anyone have a better source for the status of Occitan in Monaco now? Are there children learning this language as their mother tongue in Monaco? If I dig into this and find my own sources, are there any objections to me expanding on this section?
